Mary Cronin is the Consultant-Chief Business Development Officer for Grey Snow Management Solutions, LLC (GSMS). Mary is a driven government relations, public affairs, and public policy executive. After a decade as the Managing Director at Smith Dawson & Andrews (SDA), a full-service government relations and public affairs firm in Washington, D.C., she established Strategy Hub LLC. Her career spans federal, state, and county government. Mary brings several years of experience in assisting clients throughout the United States with their policy and funding needs. She also works with nonprofits that wish to elevate their profile among foundations, and private sector companies seeking government procurement opportunities and federal business development program certifications.
Previously, Mary served as the Executive and Legislative Director of the bipartisan Northeast-Midwest Congressional Coalition (NEMW) in the U.S. House of Representatives. There she managed a number of Congressional task forces, coordinating common policy interests among more than 70 Members of Congress, representing 18 Northeast and Midwestern states. Prior to her service on Capitol Hill, Mary was Deputy Director of Government Relations for the Fairfax County (Virginia) Public Schools, the nation’s 10th-largest school system, and Legislative Director to the Assistant Majority Whip in the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
Mary is a candidate for a Master of Global Business Administration at The Fletcher School at Tufts University. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Saint Michael’s College, a Master of Science in Public Affairs from the University of Massachusetts, McCormack Graduate School of Policy Studies, and a Master of Arts in Strategic Security Studies from the College of International Security Affairs at the National Defense University. She is a member of the Leadership Council of the National Small Business Association and has served as the elected Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for the Northeast-Midwest Institute since 2014. Mary proudly holds the title of Executive Director of the Wishing Chair Foundation, a private foundation offering scholarships for underrepresented students to study abroad in Ireland.
Grey Snow Management Solutions’ vision intentionally aligns with the expressed needs of the Ioway and Native people. In response to the Tribe’s strong desire to boost economy and infrastructure, GSMS was founded to create and expand its portfolio of regional businesses and has done so since 2019. Each business works in conjunction with the Tribe and the local community and all strive to deliver sustainable, regenerative solutions to the challenges facing the Ioway.
